Local nonprofits and coops
Here are some cool organizations worth checking out. I have them here to help me out with story ideas, but this would be a great resource for those seeking internships, volunteer opportunities, or organizations in which to become a member or donor. Here they are:
Critical Mass is a monthly bike ride that honors a cyclist's right to the road. Here's a video of stupid cops messing with cyclists, which has been known to happen during rides.
Substance is an organization merging activism with the arts to promote social change. Rage Against The Machine performed at a Substance event during the RNC.

Local studios, galleries and museums
I'm putting this up because I figured it'd be nice to have when searching for story ideas. Since art's usually free, it doubles as a great guide for something good to do. (during the day, at least)
